Gaijin ‘Alien’

As I have been a foreigner in Japan I am speaking form experience, this may be different from other peoples experiences.

When I was 13 I stayed in Japan for 2 months with my family. While I was there I lived in Miura which is near Yokohama. While I was there I attended Junior High and my love for Japan sprung up. I loved every second of it however there are some really hard moments, the not knowing any of the language was probably the most common one you’ll encounter. (It’s very hard not being able to say what you want to say.) but also the food is extremely different. But those moments aren’t the hardest, I think the hardest moment for me was bullying. I was not really bullied myself, stupid kids would take advantage of the fact I couldn’t speak the language and people would stare, A LOT. But apart from that I wasn’t really made fun of, in fact quite a lot of people wanted to be my friend! (1 or 2 boys even asked me out! *blushes*)  However that didn’t mean I wouldn’t see bullying. I would quite often just see it whist walking down the corridor, a group of people would through stuff a kid or that stuff away from them and wouldn’t give it back. I also had a fairly close friend (As close as you can get to person you can’t really speak to…) anyway, she was mixed raced (Her Mum Japanese, her Dad was born in American.) and she fairly dark skin. She also like Ganguro style, she wasn’t a hardcore fan of it as she was just 13 but she would also try and roll her school skirt higher and she also had a older friend that was a club leader of something that was really into B-style (she wanted to look like an Black American Hip Hop star) and she would take Shiori (my friend) to the tanning salon with her. When walking around town with Shiori people would stare at us, we both were quite an odd looking pair I guess. Sometimes though, people (especially old grannies) would call out stuff at her. At first I thought it was because they knew her or something but then I thought it was weird she didn’t call back or even look at them. Then one day I decided to ask her what they were saying, she looked sort of flustered and embarrassed. She then told me they were say “bug”. When she told me this I thought she meant they were calling me a bug, but after seeing Jrcach’s post about Honey Momo 5 years later it brings me back and makes me realize, they were calling Shiori a cockroach because of her skin. To be honest I knew Shiori was getting bullied because of her skin anyway at school but I never expect grown adults to bully a 13 year old? At the time I thought there was nothing I could say or do because I didn’t speak Japanese but now and look back and realize there was and I should of.

In Japan light skin= “beauty”. Lots of Japanese girls will avoid the sun at all costs and even bleach their skin. Japan is amazing but far from perfect. I really want Honey Momo or any other girl to reach her dream and even though they’ll be loads of racist, one minded Jrcachs to prove them wrong and only focus of the thousands of loving adoring fans who wont care about ethnicity but care about the way you radiate and shine on stage and off. <3

Sorry, wasn't sure how much you knew about the Vkei scene because of how little information you gave in that first article. The girls here seem to be more into Jpop and I thought I'd just put the information out there in case you were on the same boat. Vkei fan for 6 years and just thought a more informative article could have been written about females and/or foreigners in the Vkei scene. Didn't mean to accuse you of not knowing about it D:

It’s OK Anon. I had a date to go so I couldn’t really write a lot! Sorry! I’ll do more later. :) People here are more into J-Pop probably because this is a J-Pop blog! XD But the article was many done for Hanabi and another girls like her. I also prefer J-Pop but before I write an article I always do a substantial amount of research so I knew what you were talking about. (You gave away lot’s of Part 2!) I don’t know anything about foreigners but I was getting on to females. Don’t worry I didn’t think you were acusing me of anything. XD Maybe you could submit an article about Visual Kei? It may be helpful for some girls.

Another good V-kei band is exist†trace! They're an all girl band like Scandal ^^

He he he! I don’t really like Visual Kei to be honest! ^_^ (It scares me!) I quite like Scandal though… :3

Hi there! I've noticed your article on visual kei and I just wanted to point out that usually the "female" members in vkei are actually male. It's a very rare case to actually have a female member in visual kei/oshare kei, but not unheard of. You will mostly find females in all-female bands like Danger☆Gang and Exist Trace. Females in J-rock though, are very common! BABYMETAL combines idol style front girls behind heavy metal with pop-like choruses~

Hello. I know this Anon… That is why I said it? XD I have found a handful with 1 or 2 female members though. I was focusing manly on Visual Kei though…

You’re welcome! <3 I’m glad it means a lot to you. You haven’t. ^_^ Don’t worry! I think that it’s fine to speak your mind but be careful as an aspiring idol though! I think people don’t really notice that much to be honest anyway!

For aspiring Visual Kei! Part 1

J-Rock isn’t my area of expertise so bear with me! <3

The major of Visula Kei bands are made up of boys but there are some girls too! Like Scandal (Who have become absolutely massive!), Srew, Chariots, Deluhi, The Gazette, Nega and Skull. Most bands consist of around 4-6 members and most cases they have only 1 or 2 girls in the band. If you want to be Visual Kei artist you must be prepare to learn Japanese EXTREMELY well, more than normal idols, as you need to be able to play music together and write songs as a fair amount of time the bands write the songs not the managers like normal idols! You must be prepared to work with boys! You must learn an instrument, either: electric guitar, bass guitar, rhythm guitar, organ, synth guitar, drums, synthesizer etc… Anyway, members of Visual Kei bands most be beautiful (boy or girl)

Honey Momo

http://www.youtube.com/user/HoneyKittenMomo/feed

5 reason why I love her!

1. She freaking adorable! I mean who couldn’t find her cute? (-racist Jrcach…)

2. She is educated in Akihabara culture and a few girls to do so too if they want to be idols there!

3. She speaks her mind. She isn’t one of those sugar coated girls who want to come of completely un-bitchy. She says it like it is and even though I may not always agree with her opinion, I respect it.

4. She share her knowledge with others. This is Honey Momo’s idol information blog! Go follow and love it…:3 http://cutiepopidols.tumblr.com/

5. She’s super friendly and ready to help people out! <3

Hello ! How are you ? Can you pleasereview my 2 last videos ? Thank you ^o^ (and sorry forthe poor sound of them both)

OK!
1. Kokonatsu
I was pretty disappointed with this one the intro was cute but you need to learn to edit your videos, so you’re not running back and forth and you can overlay the song! It’s important! You’re hair, makeup and outfit was cute but the video was shortened because you weren’t prepared. The dancing could be improved too.
2. I can Take my Panties Off Now
Cute intro agian and hair, makeup, outfit. BUT YOU NEED TO EDIT! XD Its an OK dance though.

I just wanted to say hello and to thank you for making a tumblr centered around j-pop dancing/singing/net idols! There's not enough blogs or forums for all of us that stay free of drama (which I absolutely cannot stand), so I'm thrilled to see that you are so encouraging and helpful. ^ w ^ My name's Nico and I'm an Oishii! Project Mini Cherry, so maybe you'll see more of me in the future~ If that happens, I hope you will give me advice as kindly as you have for the other lovely girls here. <3

Aw! Well aren’t you the cutest thing! Hehe. There really isn’t enough free from drama blogs! As much as I adore dansanohimitsu every page is drama. I think teenage girls get enough drama at school. (I know I do! XD) Thank you! I’ve seen your videos! Very nice! Congratulations on making Oishii! Project! I can’t wait to see how you’ll improve! :D I hope I do see more of you. :) You’re cute! Thank you again!
